depa held the certificate presentation ceremony and the closing ceremony for the 2nd ODOS Summer Camp program.
depa hosted the orientation, certificate presentation, and closing ceremony for the 2nd cohort of the ODOS Summer Camp. The initiative aims to upscale potential Thai youth through international digital and technology curricula, empowering them to apply their acquired experience to community and social development, and drive the digital economy, while continuing depa’s mission to promote the country’s digital workforce development.
Dr. Supakorn Siddhichai, Acting President/CEO of the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa), presided over the Closing Day ODOS Summer Camp #Classof2026, certificate presentation, and closing ceremony for the 2nd cohort of the ODOS Summer Camp. The event was honored by the presence of Mrs. Tumthong Musikarat, Deputy Director of The Government Lottery Office, alongside executives and representatives from partner organizations across the public, private, and academic sectors. Also attending the event both at depa headquarters and online were 928 selected Thai youth representing all districts across the country, as well as 6 high-potential digital youth from the government-supported Coding Thailand 2025: AI-Driven Future project. All participants successfully completed digital and technology training curricula from top universities across 9 countries.
Dr. Supakorn stated that promoting digital workforce development is a core mission of depa, and the ODOS Summer Camp serves as a key mechanism for building the country’s human capital. Beyond the scholarships provided, the project’s true intent is to offer Thai youth the “opportunity” to expand their horizons through life and educational experiences, while gaining firsthand exposure to innovations and digital ecosystems from global tech companies. depa believes that when youth see a broader world, they will gain a clearer understanding of themselves, helping them discover what they truly want, who they want to become, and how they want to live their lives.
“depa views technology as merely a tool to assist in work and daily life. However, what technology can never replace is the value of humanity. There are two core principles I want all of you to prioritize. First is “Contribution”. As you become more capable, knowledgeable, and gain more opportunities, do not ask what you will receive, but ask what you can give. I believe that the happiest people in the long run are not those who receive the most, but those who can create the most value for others. Second is “Respect”. This sounds simple but is actually very difficult. In the professional world, you will encounter people who think differently and work differently from you. Success in this world is never achieved by a single talented individual, but by many people working together. Therefore, respecting others, listening, helping one another, adhering to regulations, and being someone others want to work with are just as crucial as academic excellence. Nevertheless, I would like to congratulate all of you today. Thailand is fortunate to have a new generation like you. I believe you return not only with memories, but with fresh perspectives, bigger dreams, and a strong conviction that Thais can build a better future for our country. I hope you will apply these experiences to develop your communities, society, and further drive the Thai economy in the digital era,” stated the Acting President/CEO of depa.
Dr. Supakorn further noted that the ODOS Summer Camp project also serves as a prime example of utilizing homegrown Thai digital technologies throughout the entire process. This spans from the application stage and skill assessments to the distribution of Data Wallets for storing e-certificates and portfolios, reflecting that Thais possess fully integrated technology that effectively addresses real-world use cases.
Mrs. Tumthong stated that young Thai participants in the ODOS Summer Camp gained invaluable, hands-on global experience over several weeks that textbooks cannot fully capture. On behalf of The Government Lottery Office, emphasized that “opportunity” is the starting point of change, highlighting the importance of building upon such experiences.
“The experience our Thai youth gained from the ODOS Summer Camp may just be the beginning. With your determination and a continuous passion for learning, each of you is truly the pride of Thailand. Lastly, on behalf of The Government Lottery Office, I would like to thank depa, the working committee, and all sectors involved in making this project a reality. Congratulations to all of you. May you pursue your dreams with confidence, and may the experience from this project serve as the launchpad for many more wonderful opportunities in the future,” added the Deputy Director of The Government Lottery Office.
